Clocking system accurately records pay to prevent disputes Friday 9th July 2010

Inequality of pay has been smoothed over by BT following the possibility of industrial action. The chief executive, Ian Livingston, saw his bonus more than triple last year, taking his total pay package, including shares, above £3m – while the workforce were initially offered a 2% pensionable pay rise from April 2010 and a 3% rise from January 2011. The union had previously demanded a 5% rise for 2010/11 alone. The company had also offered lump sum payments worth up to £500 for each team member but these have now been removed given the revised 3% terms agreed over 39 months.

North Lincs Council use Tensor Toilet Turnstiles Tuesday 2nd March 2010

In April 2009 the councils Electrical Engineer, Mark Bagley, was looking to replace some of the old public convenience turnstiles that had become irreparable. These were the Library Square Public Toilets, off Carlton Street, Scunthorpe. Mark received quotes various companies but decided to place an order for Toilet Turnstiless coin operated turnstiles especially designed for public conveniences usage because “Tensor were able to do exactly as required and the price was competitive”.

Lister Hospital is better managed with Tensor Friday 19th February 2010

In 2003 the Lister was looking at ways to improve the working lives of their staff by using a flexi system. IT Manager, Paul Chambers, was in charge of the project and he decided to review the Tensor WinTA Time Management system as it had been recommended that the hospital considered using it. After a demonstration of the WinTA system the Lister Hospital placed an order for a Tensor Smart Card based Time Management system, but using Tensor’s Smart Keyfobs instead of Smart Cards. The system was installed by Tensor engineers and no problems were encountered during the installation of the hardware or the software.

Royal Liverpool Hospital manages staff attendance with Tensor Wednesday 27th January 2010

In 2007 the Medical Engineering Department, who perform the maintenance & repair of life support equipment for the hospital and other customers, were looking at ways to manage the introduction of flexible working arrangements. The project leader for this task was Deputy & QA Manager, Paul Hopper with the final decision being made by the Department Manager, Mike Pearlstone.

After considering the merits of Tensor’s Smart Keyfob attendance monitoring system, The Royal Liverpool Hospital decided to install a Tensor WinTA Enterprise system which included three Smart Fob clocking stations. When asked why they chose Tensor, Paul Hopper replied because it was “a perfect fit”.

Tensor helps Forest Care Thursday 24th December 2009

West Sussex Housing Society Ltd operate two of the most highly rated homes in Worthing and Southwick, providing long term care, short stay, convalescence and respite care. In 2005 their Director, Fred Meek, and the management committee were looking at ways to improve the management of staff attendance recording. In particular, they wanted to modernise their payroll and time and attendance system. A key requirement was to reduce the paperwork involved in calculating hours worked and to reduce calculation errors involved in their existing manual process.
