Guhring manufacture the ultimate range of rotary cutting tools in HSS, carbide and diamond materials. Part of the German owned Guehring oHG Group, Guhring Limited manufacture, modify, regrind and recoat rotary cutting tools from their factory in Castle Bromwich Business Park, Tameside Drive, Birmingham. In mid 2003 Yvonne Clune, Finance & IT Manager, was looking for a computer system to provide better control of employee "in" and "out" times. One of her main reasons for investigating a new system related to Health & Safety issues. After seeing a demonstration of Tensor's WinTA Lite Time &Attendance/Access Control system Yvonne decided to buy WinTA Lite because “It was flexible and easy to use, and came highly recommended”.
Tensor installed the system at the end of 2003. No problems were encountered with the hardware installation and a minor problem with the software was soon resolved after a firmware change.
“WinTA Lite is easy to use, plus all information is in one place” explained Yvonne. “for example holidays, absences and any other information related to Time and Attendance is there in one system” she added. Yvonne also said the Tensor Smart Cards were “very easy to use” .
Yvonne has used the Tensor Helpdesk and found them to be “helpful and very patient”. Guhring are looking at using the Fire Roll Call feature of WinTALite soon, by adding a printer. They will also be adding a new Smart Card clocking station.
Yvonne said she was generally happy with Tensor, and said “Yes” when she was asked if she would recommend Tensor to other companies. Summing up Tensor in a few words Yvonne said “Tensor are very helpful”
