Attendance monitoring software automatically informs managers of missing employees
Accurate information about absenteeism and lateness is crucial for any organization, especially when union members working for the respective bodies (either public or private) decide to strike over pay disputes or other issues.
This is also the case with the NHS, since Unison’s 300,000 members have voted to strike over a continuing pay dispute, the first time in more than three decades NHS workers have decided to take this very serious measure, a news source was able to reveal.
During a recent ballot, 68% voted for strike action and 88% indicated they would be willing to take industrial action short of striking.
The ballot was triggered by the health secretary’s decision to ignore the recommendations of the NHS Pay Review Body earlier this year and instead offers health workers incremental pay increases, which meant only those at the top end of the pay increments are guaranteed any kind of pay award.
NHS Employers director of employment and reward Gill Bellord said she “remains hopeful” an agreement can be reached before the proposed strikes take place.
“Employers need to maximise their ability to retain staff and plan changes to how they work in response to the changing needs of patients and major financial challenges have made stark choices inevitable,” Bellord said.
Determining exactly which employees went on strike and just how much of their pay is due to be retained is not always an easy task for HR departments, but Tensor’s WinTA Enterprise.NET can actually make everything a lot smoother.
First and foremost, our comprehensive, affordable Time and Attendance solution allows HR managers to generate a range of useful reports, such as Absence Summary or Job Summary, that will provide precise information on the people who actually participated to the strike and didn’t attend their usual work schedule.
WinTA.NET also reliably tracks the exact hours worked by a particular employee over a year, not to mention the fact that the system can be very easily integrated with the Tensor Access Control solutions.
