The Japanese government considers deploying biometric access control systems in a bid to keep tabs on their citizens’ gambling, a recent news report has been able to suggest.

Japan’s Diet voted to legalize integrated resorts in late 2016 and lawmakers are now in the process of developing a framework of regulation for a casino industry that has the potential to be one of the biggest in the world.

The Government plans to implement several consumer protection proposals designed to limit citizens’ exposure to gambling. This would limit Japanese citizens and foreigners living in the country to three visits to a casino in a single week and ten within 28 consecutive days.
