Employee’s sickness-related absences could be mitigated by health cash plans
A recent research study carried out by healthcare provider Simplyhealth has revealed that providing one’s employees’ with a health cash plan could significantly reduce the number of sick leaves they take, thus reducing overall costs.
The paper published by Simplyhealth revealed that the number of sick leave days taken by the 1,165 employees at Transforming Education in Norfolk (the TEN Group), a federation of educational institutions in Norfolk, decreased by an impressive 24% after the introduction of a health cash plan back in 2008.
Of course, measuring the level of efficiency such a measure can deliver is also an important issue, and this is specifically where Tensor can help.
Tensor plc has an extensive experience in supplying solid, reliable, yet affordable personnel management solutions, and our flagship WinTA.NET solution offers a dedicated Absence Planning and Entitlement Management feature.
Our advanced software comes pre-loaded with graphical calendar charts that provide a colourful way of viewing an individual’s or a department’s absence records.
Each employee can be allocated different entitlements for absence such as annual leave or allowed sickness. As absence is booked and taken, the remainder available for each entitlement is updated. Entitlement formulae are used to calculate more complex entitlements calculated on a rising scale based upon length of service.
WinTA.NET supplies the relevant managers with information on employee’s abscences through warning email notifications or via hardcopy reports. The system quickly identifies missing employees that are expected to be at work and then informs you via automatic email reporting reports distributed by email.
