Rapidly expanding firms can easily manage shifts with Tensor WinTA.NET Start
Family-owned Lunn Engineering, based in Atherstone, Warwickshire, has some pretty impressive development plans set out for the future, after investing £250,000 on new machinery with funding from Yorkshire Bank, a news report reveals.
Lunn Engineering manufactures flywheel housings used on earth-scraping machines, and the investment was necessary in order to meet growing demand for its services from major organisations including Shield Engineering and Caterpillar.
Managing director Fred Lunn said plans are underway to extend the factory. Lunn added: “The investment in the new machining centre is the biggest we’ve made in recent years and the decision to progress was made easy due to the volume of work we’ve generated. Last year was an exceptional year for us, one of the busiest we’ve had in recent years to the point where we took the decision to move from one to two shifts. Increasing the shifts coupled with bringing in the new machine has enabled us to vastly increase our production capacity.”
Small companies that are rapidly expanding their output and hire additional staff in order to meet market demands could really benefit from the extensive shift management options provided by the Tensor WinTA Start .NET time and attendance solution.
The WinTA Start .NET comprises a T32xx Clocking Station, 25 Smart Cards (additional cards are available on request), serial cable for communications to PC and, of course, the WinTA Start software, capable of supporting time and attendance recording for up to 50 people. 12 months of free helpdesk support from date of purchase are also included in the sales package.
The solution enables users to set comprehensive working patterns, rosters and shifts, with either fixed or flexitime rules, while overtime is easily monitored with up to four different pay bands in each shift. Furthermore, Groups are used to define sequences of shift patterns, Rolling Groups repeat a block of shift patterns, while the AutoSelect Groups feature offers multiple shift patterns available per day.
Plus, WinTA Start will select the most appropriate shift depending on when an employee starts work, which means that, if the manager moves an employee’s shift, WinTA Start will automatically assign the correct shift to the employee. The built in report generator also makes it simple to get the information one needs from the system.
These are only a few of the many features the Tensor WinTA Start .NET solution has in store, and if you want to find out more on this topic, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our dedicated product team.
