Wireless infant tagging to boost hospital security
In an attempt to provide greater peace of mind for parents and the best possible protection for infants in its care, a hospital has decided to implement a complex wireless infant tagging solution, coupled with an advanced access control system.
As a part of the system implemented at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, both mother and baby will have to wear matching RFID (radio frequency identification) tags, which will help deliver 24 hour monitoring.
This includes reporting any unauthorized exit through protected doorways, tag removal or loss of signal, via alarm, which will immediately lead to a sequenced door lockdown and live sounding of alarms locally, at the nurses’ stations, as well as at the central security desk.
This sort of complex access control system is likely to become more common place on the future, and it’s quite likely that it will be extended to other categories of patients (especially the elderly).
Tensor plc is an expert in developing and implementing complex, yet user-friendly fully integrated access control solutions, that can also be easily tweaked in order to support CCTV surveillance systems, alarm systems, car park barriers, and much more.
Our various product ranges have been designed right from the start to be interconnected and to work seamlessly together, which means any customer is guaranteed to get a turn-key solution that simply works, while also managing to keep overall costs at a lower level.
