Biometric time and attendance monitoring system to check on doctors at district hospitals
A new biometric time and attendance monitoring system will try to tackle the problem of absenteeism by doctors and other health staff at two government hospitals in the city of Meerut, a district headquarters in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
According to a local news source, instructions have been passed by the district magistrate to Chief Medical Officer Dr Ramesh Chandra to set up the systems at Pyare Lal Sharma district hospital and Women district hospital in the city.
The aim is to ensure that doctors and paramedical staff reach the hospital in time and perform their duties without delay.
Giving details, district magistrate Pankaj Yadav, said, “The biometric attendance system has to be installed at PL Sharma district hospital and women district hospital at the earliest. The move is the need of the hour and will ensure that doctors report for work on time.”
