Workers paid on annual contract basis easily handled by HR network
Financial advisors Deloitte and the BBC have been going through the television giant’s payroll following allegations of tax malpractice. Deloitte and the internal auditors identified 804 freelance talent paid more than £50,000 in the previous financial year that should be the subject of the BBC's new employment rules. Roughly 131 of these could be offered staff contracts when their current contracts expire. The broadcaster hoped the changes will be in place when the new tax year begins in April 2013.
