Job Description:

We are looking for a bright, sharp, enthusiastic person to assist our IT Manager in a three-year training program covering the maintenance of our Microsoft Network of PCs, IT infrastructure, Telecoms and CCTV. The work covers installing, configuring & maintaining Microsoft Operating systems + application software on our PCs + day-to-day operations of our server network. You will also learn and be involved in the maintenance of Tensor’s telecommunications systems & devices and CCTV.

During the first year, you will be trained by our IT Manager and assist in the maintenance of the hardware of our PCs, printers, and networks and associated software. Here, you will help and support the IT Manager. You will also be required to augment your academic knowledge by passing Microsoft Certifications or CCNA or A+ qualifications.

Duties
During the second and third years you will be given more responsibility in maintaining our ITC infrastructure, fault-finding, installing, configuring and/or fault fixing the following:

  • Windows based workstations
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Maintaining registers of IP Address and DNS
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software. hardware and Printer issues
  • Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components
  • Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus software
  • Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation
  • Maintain Assets & PAT testing records

Further core duties as you develop your knowledge and experience will include:

  • Management of network Lan/WAN/VPN
  • Manage wired/wireless and remote network infrastructure and internet connectivity
  • Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation
  • Respond promptly to requests for support/service in person, via inbound communication channels
  • Manage and maintain software and hardware audits and assets records.
  • Maintain the call logs and IT helpdesk Ticketing system
  • Assist in the monitoring of the CCTV and Access Control System
  • Maintaining our VOIP telecoms system
  • Maintaining our CCTV system
  • Any other tasks and duties assigned by the management.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is £24,000 to £26,000 depending upon knowledge, experience and ability.

The working hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, although you will sometimes need to work outside these hours to support our 24/7 operation. You will receive 30 days annual leave including Bank/Public Holidays. There is a Company pension scheme available cycle to work scheme and a car scheme. Additional annual leave is also achievable.
